Heath and Hampstead Society unveils a 'black plaque' to commemorate the life and works of Isaiah Berlin

On Tuesday 3 May 2022 members of the Heath and Hampstead Society unveiled a plaque at an address in Hollycroft Avenue, London NW3

  • A sizeable gathering, which included members of Berlin's step-family, and the Heath and Hampstead Society, witnessed the unveiling
  • Berlin's stepson, Peter Halban, and his editor, Henry Hardy, made short but moving speeches
  • Berlin's parents lived at the address from 1928, and it was his home until 1956, when he married Aline Halban née de Gunzbourg
